How Many Uplights Do I Need?

This is the most common question couples ask us. The answer depends on the size of your venue:

  • Small ballroom or event room (up to 100 guests, up to 2,000 sq ft): 10–14 uplights — enough to illuminate all walls with coverage every 8–10 feet
  • Medium ballroom (100–200 guests, 2,000–4,000 sq ft): 16–20 uplights — our most common configuration, included in our Silver and Gold packages
  • Large ballroom (200–350 guests, 4,000–6,000 sq ft): 20–24 uplights — included in our Platinum package
  • Grand ballroom (350+ guests, 6,000+ sq ft): 24–32+ uplights — our Diamond package provides 32 lights, covering the largest venue ballrooms in the DMV

All of our uplights are 100% wireless and battery-powered — no cables running across your venue floor, no trip hazards, no unsightly cords along the baseboards. We use professional-grade wireless DMX-controlled fixtures that communicate with our central DMX controller, allowing us to change colors, dim, or create effects from a single controller.

This means we can change your uplighting color throughout the evening — softer blush during dinner, deeper jewel tones during dancing, and a dramatic finale color for your last dance. All programmed and executed in real time by DJ Dave at the console.

  • Silver ($1,499): 20 wireless uplights with DMX controller — 5 hours DJ/MC service
  • Gold ($1,999): 20 wireless uplights with DMX controller — 5.5 hours, plus cloud machine
  • Platinum ($2,499): 24 wireless uplights with DMX controller — 6 hours, plus cold sparklers, cloud machine, 3D monogram
  • Diamond ($3,499): 32 wireless uplights with DMX controller — 7 hours, full premium package
